Hi! We are Lisa and Sapir, a couple of Jewish Santa Barbarians looking to discover the secrets of the Asian Jewish harmony.

Where did the name come from?

Sapir and I were eating matzo ball soup during Shabbat dinner one night while discussing the topic of our blog – Jews and Asians. It should be noted that we both have an undying love for food. We started imagining how a reflection of these cultures could be represented with food. Naturally, the idea of adding wontons to our matzo ball soup came to us. We have yet to try this innovation but when we do we will most certainly report back. After careful deliberation, Sapir and I decided on the perfect name which incorporates both ethnicities that we are discussing into one of our favorite pastimes – eating.
